What are the types of cloud?

Hey, friends have you ever wondered are there any types of clouds in the sky or all of the same. Well obviously, there are. So let's know about all of the types of clouds. let's go

Clouds can be divided into three groups:-

1.Low clouds- that is below 6500 feet
2.Mid clouds - 6,500-20,000 feet
3.High clouds -above 20,000 feet

1. Low clouds

Cumulus clouds
This type of cloud is what you see most often. It generally appears in the morning grows and then dissolves again towards the evening. They are low-level clouds and often resemble cauliflowers.

Stratocumulus clouds
Well, these look like Honeycombs or rolls. They are low puffy greyish or whitish clouds that occur in patches with the sky visible in between and these are low level clouds too.

2.Mid clouds

Altocumulus clouds
This is a mid-level cloud that looks like white or grey patches. It is the most common cloud which often appears with others clouds.

Nimbostratus clouds (heavy clouds)
These clouds are also known as continuous rain clouds. They are dark and grey defused by fallen rain or snow and thick enough to block the sun. This is also a mid-level cloud. These clouds also bring rain.

3. High clouds

Cirrus clouds
This is a high-level cloud. When these clouds cross the sun's disk they hardly diminish its brightness. Before sunrise and after sunset Cirrus's often coloured bright yellow or red.

Cirrocumulus clouds
These are high level clouds. They are compost of very small elements in the form of grains or ripples.

Friends have you ever thought "what would happen if there was no cloud in the sky?"

  1. Firstly without any clouds sunsets would no longer look spectacular.
  2. Secondly, there would be no rain if no clouds. Eventually all the water present in earth would evaporate and our earth would begin to look like mars.
  3. Thirdly temperatures would suddenly rise during daytime and drop at night. This is  because clouds help regulate temperature as clouds are generally white in colour. They reflect a good amount of sunlight thus helping keep our day temperatures down. At the same time at night they don't allow all the heat reflected from earth to escape. Thus not allowing our nights to get to cold.
