     এলিনার এক বান্ধবী তাকে ডাকল রাহল এসেছে জানাতে এলিনা শুনতে পেল না। তা দেখে রাহুলের খুব অভিমান হল। এলিনা......।।

 

                   এলিনা রাহুল এসেছে শুনে ছুটে এল কিন্তু ততক্ষণে রাহুল রেগে কলেজ থেকে চলে গেল। তারপর রাহুল আবার পড়তে চলে গেল। অনেকদিন হয়ে গেল এলিনার সাথে রাহুলের কথা নেই। এলিনার ও মনে মনে খুব অভিমান হয়েছিল যে রাহুল তার সাথে দেখা না করে চলে গেল। এলিনা জানত না যে সেই দিন রাহুল তার উপর রাগ করে চলে গেছিল। ঐদিকে রাহুল ও ভাবল এলিনা হয়ত তাকে ভুলে গেছে তাই তাকে পাত্তা দিল না। দুজন দুজনের উপর অভিমান করে দীর্ঘ দিন কেউ কারো খবর নেওয়ার ও চেষ্টা করল না। কিন্তু মনে মনে দুজন এ কষ্ট পাচ্ছিল। কিন্তু দুজনেই ইগোতে ভুগছিল তাই কেউ কারো খবর নিতে ও চাইছিল না। 

           এমনভাবে প্রায় ৬ মাস কেটে গেল এলিনার রাগ ও কিছুটা কমে এসেছে। এই দিকে রাহুল ও ভাবছে সেই দিন এমন করা হয়ত ঠিক হয়নি। রাহুল তাই বাড়ি ফিরেই এলিনার কলেজে গেল। কিন্তু কলেজ গিয়ে এলিনার বন্ধুদের কাছে জানতে পারল এলিনার শরীর ভাল নেই তাই সে আজ কলেজ যাইনি। তারপর রাহুল তার এক বান্ধবীর কাছ থেকে তার ফোন নাম্বারটা নিয়ে তাকে ফোন করল। এলিনার মা ফোনটা ধরল। রাহুল প্রথমে ফোনটা কেটে দিল। কিন্তু রাহুলের খুব জানতে ইচ্ছে করছিল এলিনা এখন কেমন আছে। তাই সে কিছুক্ষণ পর আবার ফোন করল। আবার ফোনটা এলিনা ধরল। এলিনা ভাবতে ও পারেনি রাহুল তাকে ফোন করবে। রাহুল যখন এলিনার কাছ থেকে জানতে চাইল সে কেমন আছে এলিনার দুচোখ যেন জলে ভরে এলো। দুজন এই প্রথমবার অনেক সময় ধরে অনেক কথা হল। দুজনের মধ্যে জমা ইগো যেন ভালবাসার চাদরে ডেকে গেল।  এইভাবে বেশ কিছুদিন চলে গেল। 

             

            ওরা যদিও দুজন দুজনকে ভালবাসত কিন্তু কিছু না কিছু কথা নিয়ে ওদের প্রায় সময় কথা কাটাকাটি হত। দুজন ই পাশ করে চাকরি পেল। রাহুলের এক নাম করা বেসরকারি কম্পানিতে চাকরি হল আর এলিনা তার শহরেই এক স্কুলে বিজ্ঞানের শিক্ষিকা হিসেবে নিয়ুক্ত হল।

দুজনেই সেই দিন খুব খুশি ছিল। ওরা ঠিক করল বাড়িতে এবার সব জানাবে। দুজনের মা বাবা সব কিছু মেনে ও নিল। আর ছেলে মেয়ে দুজনই যখন চাকরি করে তাছাড়া নিজেদেরটা সব কিছু বুঝতে পারে তবে আপত্তি করার ও কিছু নেই। ঠিক তখন রাহুল জানতে পারল তাকে চাকরি সূত্রে তিন বছরের জন্যে দেশের বাইরে যেতে হবে। রাহুল খবরটা পেয়ে খুশি হলে আগে তার মা বাবাকে জানিয়ে এলিনাকে ফোন করে খবরটা দিল। এলিনা ও তা শুনে খুব খুশি।

           

         রাহুল এলিনাকে বলল তবে বিয়ে টা সেরে দুজন মিলে চলে যাই। এলিনা প্রথমে চুপ করে রইল তারপর বলল ভেবে বলছি। রাহুল এলিনাকে বলল তাতে ভাবার কি আছে তুমি চাকরিটা ছেড়ে দাও তোমার এই চাকরিতে কি সংসার চলবে নাকি। তাছাড়া তুমি সংসার সামলে কতদিন চাকরি করতে পারবে একদিন না একদিন তো চাকরিটা ছাড়তে হবেই। এলিনা ফোনটা কেটে দিল, আর ভাবতে লাগল কি করে রাহুল তাকে এই কথাগুলো বলল, রাহুলের কাছে কি এলিনার চাকরির কোন কদর নাই। কত লোক এই চাকরিটা পাগলের মত খুঁজছে। কত লোকের সংসার এই চাকরির উপর চলছে। শুধু মেয়ে বলে ওকে চাকরিটা ছেড়ে দিতে হবে। রাহুল অনেক বার এলিনা কে ফোন করল কিন্তু এলিনার ফোনটা একবার ও ধরল না।

     এলিনা ভাবল রাহুল তার ভুলটা একদিন বুঝতে পারবে তখন হয়ত সে নিজেই এলিনার কাছে ছুটে আসবে। তাছাড়া রাহুলের কথায় এলিনার খুব অভিমান ও হয়েছিল। ঐদিকে রাহুল ভাবছে এলিনা কে সে তো খারাপ কিছু বলেনি তার সাথে যেতেই বলেছে তবে রাগ করার কি আছে? রাহুলের ইচ্ছে হচ্ছিল এলিনার সাথে কথা বলতে কিন্তু রাহুলের ইগো রাহুল কে বাঁধা দিচ্ছিল। এলিনা ও ভাবছে রাহুল তাকে ঠিক মানাতে আসবে। রাহুল যদি দেশে ফিরে এসে তাকে চাকরি করতে দেয় সে তবে এখন চাকরি ছেড়ে দেবে। আর এলিনা চাকরিটা করলে রাহুলের ই পরবর্তী সময়ে সাহায়্য হবে। কিন্তু রাহুল এলিনাকে ফোন করল না। সে এলিনাকে কিছু না বলেই চলে গেল। এলিনার রাহুলের এমন আচরণে খুব ই বাজে লাগল। কিন্তু সে কিছুই বলল না। এলিনা ও রাহুলের মা বাবারা কিছুই বুঝতে পারছিল না ওদের কি হয়েছে। দেখতে দেখতে প্রায় দুবছর কেটে গেল। এদিকে এলিনার বাবা ভাবছে এবার মেয়েকে বিয়ে দিতে হবে। রাহুল ও এলিনা কষ্ট পেলে ও নিজের ইগোর কাছে কেউ হার মানবে না। মা, বাবা বন্ধুরা সবাই ওদের বোঝানোর চেষ্টা করল কিন্তু কিছুই লাভ হল না। ................................

Rahul became very angry............................................

Elena heard that Rahul had come and ran away but by then Rahul left the college in anger. Then Rahul went back to college. It's been a long time since Rahul talked to Elena. Elena was also very angry in her mind that Rahul left without meeting her. Elena didn't know that Rahul was angry with her that day and left. On the other hand, Rahul thought that Elena might have forgotten him so she didn't pay attention to him. For a long time, no one tried to get the information from anyone. But both of them were suffering from ego so no one wanted to take anyone's information.

About 6 months later, Elena's anger subsided. Rahul thinks it may not have been right for him to do so that day. So Rahul after went back home, he went to Elena's College. But after going to college, he knows from Elena's friends, Elena was not well so she did not go to college today. Then Rahul took her phone number from one of her friends and called her. Elena's mother picked up the phone. Rahul first hung up the phone. But Rahul wanted to know how Elena was now. So he called again after a while. Now Elena picked up the phone. Elena couldn't think that Rahul would call her. When Rahul asked Elena how she was, Elena's eyes filled with tears. This is the first time the two have talked for so long. The ego seems to have lost to love. Thus several days passed.

   Although they loved each other, they often quarreled over something. Two of them passed and got jobs. Rahul got a job in a well-known private company and Elena was hired as a science teacher in a school in her hometown. Both of them were very happy that day. They decided to tell everything at home this time. The parents of the two accepted everything. Just then Rahul found out that he had to go abroad for three years for work. Rahul was happy to get the news, he informed his parents and called Elena. Elena is very happy to hear that.

   Rahul told Elena after the marriage was over, the two of them left together. Elena was silent at first then said thinking. Rahul told Elena what is there to think about, you quit your job. How long will you be able to continue your work? If you continue your work who take cake our family. One day, you will have to leave the job. Elena hung up the phone, wondering how Rahul could say these things to her, did Rahul not appreciate Elena's job. How many people are looking for this job like crazy? How many people's families are running on this job. Just Elena is a girl so she has to quit her job. Rahul called Elena many times but didn't pick up the phone.

      Elena thought that Rahul would realize his mistake one day then maybe he would run to Elena himself. Besides, Elena was very angry with Rahul's attitude. On the other hand, Rahul is thinking that he didn't say anything wrong to Elena, just asked her to go with him, but why she was angry? Rahul wanted to talk to Elena but Rahul's ego was blocking Rahul. Elena also thinks that Rahul will come to convince her. If Rahul allows her after returning home again to join in the job, he will quit the job now. If Elena does the job, it will help Rahul in the future. But Rahul did not call Elena. He left without saying anything to Elena. Elena was very upset with Rahul's behavior. But he said nothing. Elena and Rahul's parents did not understand what happened to them. It took almost two years to see. Meanwhile, Elena's father thinks that this time he has to marry his daughter. If Rahul and Elena suffer, no one will give up on their Igo. Mom, Dad, and their friends all tried to convince them but to no avail.
