আজ গোটা বিশ্ব জুড়ে পালিত হচ্ছে আন্তর্জাতিক ১১০ তম নারী দিবস।

          নারী শব্দটাই শক্তির সঙ্গে জড়িত।নারীশক্তি ছাড়া এ জগৎ সত্যিই অকল্পনীয়। পৃথিবীর সমস্ত শক্তির উৎস হল নারী। নারী ছাড়া আমাদের জীবন অসম্ভব। নারী হল পরিবারের স্তম্ভ, তাঁর অনুপ্রেরণা ছাড়া কোনও কিছু সম্ভব নয়।নারী একদিকে যেমন সকল ক্ষমতার উৎস তেমনি নারী ভালবাসার অনন্ত নদী। নারীরা সব সময়ই কোমল হৃদয় এর হয়। তাঁরা ভালবাসার মানুষকে সব সময় মনের গভীরে স্থান দেয়। আসলে যে রাঁধে সে চুল ও বাঁধে। তাই লিঙ্গ বৈষম্যকে দূরে সরিয়ে রেখে নারীদের সম্মান আর কাজের উপযুক্ত স্বীকৃতি দেওয়ার লক্ষ্যে পালিত হয় এ আন্তর্জাতিক নারী দিবস।

১৯০৯ সালে নিউইয়র্কের সোশ্যালিস্ট পার্টি রাজনৈতিকভাবে প্রথম নারী দিবস পালন করে।ক্লারা জেটকিন নামে একজন জার্মান নারী এই দিবসটি কে আন্তর্জাতিক নারী দিবস হিসেবে স্বীকৃতি দেওয়ার কাজটি করেন। প্রথম বিশ্বযুদ্ধের সময় রাশিয়ার নারী শ্রমিকরা ২৮ ফেব্রুয়ারি নারী দিবস উদযাপনের সময় প্রথম বিশ্বযুদ্ধের বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিবাদ জানিয়েছিলেন।এর কয়েক বছর পর ৮ই মার্চ ইউরোপের নারীরা শান্তিরক্ষা কমিটির কর্মীদের সমর্থনে এক সমাবেশের আয়োজন করেন।  ১৯১৭ সালে সোভিয়েত ইউনিয়ন ৮ মার্চ জাতীয় ছুটি ঘোষণা করে। এর পর ১৯৭৫ সালে ৮ মার্চকে নারী দিবস হিসেবে পালনের দিন ধার্য করে জাতিসংঘ। এর পর থেকেই বিশ্বব্যাপী এই দিনটিতে আন্তর্জাতিক নারী দিবস পালিত হয়ে আসছে।

নারী দিবস হিসেবে আমরা ৮ই মার্চ নারীদের সন্মানের উদ্দেশ্যে আন্তর্জাতিক নারী দিবস পালন করি বটে কিন্তু বছরের বাকি দিন গুলোতে কি আমরা সবাই তা করি?

আজ যদিও নারীরা পুরুষদের সাথে কাঁধে কাঁধ মিলিয়ে মানব সভ্যতাকে উন্নতির শিখরে পৌঁছাতে সাহায্য করছে তবু এখন ও তারা সমাজে বিভিন্ন অত্যাচারের শিকার হচ্ছে। সমাজের এক শ্রেণির মানুষ ভুলেই যায় নারীরা আছে বলেই আমরা সকলেই আছি।তাঁরা স্বয়ংসিদ্ধা। শুধু নিজের সংসারের নয়, বিশ্বসংসারের দায়িত্বও তাঁর কাঁধে। 

তাঁরা এখন কারও উপরে নির্ভরশীল নয়। উল্টে তাঁদের উপরই দাঁড়িয়ে আছে পরিবার। আবার কখনও তাঁদের উপরেই নির্ভর করছে কোনও দেশের ভাগ্য। তাঁরাই আবার কারো মা, কারো বোন,কারো স্ত্রী, কারো বান্ধবী, কারো পিসি কারো মাসি।অতীতের ইতিহাসের পাতা থেকে শুরু করে বর্তমান যুগেও দেখা যায় একজন সফল পুরুষের পেছনে ও একজন নারীর আত্মত্যাগের কাহিনী। 

তাই নারীদের অসম্মান না করে বা পায়ের তলায় থেঁতলে দেওয়ার চেষ্টা না করে,তাদের প্রতি সহানুভূতি না দেখিয়ে,তাদের প্রাপ্য সম্মান টুকু প্রদর্শন করলে আমাদের জাতি ও দেশের দ্রুত উন্নতি সম্ভব। তাই শুধু আন্তর্জাতিক নারী দিবস উপলক্ষে সেই দিনটিতেই নয় বছরের ৩৬৫ দিনই নারীর প্রতি সম্মান প্রদর্শন করা উচিত। আসলে নারীদের সম্মান করা মানে পুরুষ বিদ্বেষ নয়, নারী পুরুষ সকলে মিলে একে অপরকে সমান করে দেশ ও জাতিকে একসাথে এগিয়ে নিয়ে যাওয়া।

পৃথিবীর প্রাণ তুমি হে নারী, তোমা থেকে সৃষ্ট আমি, আজ তাই তোমারে নমি।

  Today is the 110th International Women's Day being celebrated all over the world.

The word woman is associated with energy. This world is really unimaginable without women's power. The source of all the energy in the world is women. Our life is impossible without women. Women are the pillars of the family, nothing is impossible without her inspiration. If a women can love, that women can also turn to lakshmi to kali and fight for their loved ones. Women are always of tender heart. Therefore, this International Women's Day is celebrated with the aim of giving due recognition to women's dignity and work by removing gender inequality.

In 1909, the Socialist Party of New York celebrated the first Women's Day politically. A German woman named Clara Jetkin worked to recognize the day as International Women's Day. During World War I, Russian women workers protested against World War I during the celebration of Women's Day on February 26. A few years later, on March 8, European women organized a rally in support of peacekeepers. In 1918, the Soviet Union declared March 8 a national holiday. After that, in 1975, the United Nations designated March 8 as Women's Day. Since then, International Women's Day has been celebrated on this day all over the world.

As Women's Day, we celebrate International Women's Day on March 7 to honour women, but do we all do the rest of the year?

Today, although women are helping men to reach the pinnacle of progress they are still being subjected to various forms of oppression in society. Some people in the society forgets that we are all here because there are women. They are self-sufficient. She is not only responsible for her own world, but also for the world.

They are no longer dependent on anyone. On the contrary, the family is standing against them. Sometimes the fate of a country depends on them. They are someone's mother, someone's sister, someone's wife, someone's friend, someone's daughter, someone's aunt.

Therefore, without disrespecting women or trying to trample them underfoot, without showing sympathy for them, and showing them the respect they deserve, rapid development of our nation and country is possible. Therefore, only on the occasion of International Women's Day, respect should be shown to women on that day and 365 days of the year. In fact, respecting women does not mean hatred of men, all men and women should take the country and the nation forward together by making each other equal. God has made man and woman to fulfil each other, so without women there is no man who is capable of doing everything.
